Are you a young Hispanic student interested in a career in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)? If so, you may be wondering how you will ever save enough money to attend college and land a great job in a STEM field. Luckily, there are some options available for you!
To assist in your search for college funding, we have compiled a list of 7 great scholarships geared toward Hispanics seeking degrees in STEM.

The Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund (HHSF)

The Google Scholarship Program
These funds are allotted for Hispanic students studying computer science or computer engineering, who are also juniors or above in college (even at the Post Graduate level.)
Applications are due in March each year, and the scholarship is for $10,000. Students must have a GPA 3.0 or above to be eligible, and also demonstrate a financial need.

HENAAC, Great Minds in STEM
HENAAC gives out over 100 scholarships each year to Hispanic students pursuing degrees in STEM!
The awards range from $500 to $8,500. Students must show leadership in school or community activities and hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Motivating Undergraduates in Science and Technology – MUST Scholarship
MUST is a program coordinated by NASA, which provides scholarships and NASA internships for students interested in STEM fields.
The program is open to all students but particularly seeks to serve unrepresented and underserved students such as Hispanics and other minorities.
One hundred students are selected yearly for scholarships of up to $10,000. The award also includes tutoring, mentoring by professionals in STEM fields and exclusive lecture opportunities.

Merck Ciencia Hispanic Scholars Program
The Ciencia Scholars Program offers two types of scholarships to Hispanic students across the nation.
1. Each year, 10 Hispanic high school seniors who plan to begin a degree in STEM and are residents of Brownsville, TX; Elizabeth, NJ; and Los Angeles, CA will receive a $42,500 scholarship/internship package.
2. For another 125 Hispanic college students located anywhere in the U.S., pursuing degrees in the STEM field, the Ciencia Scholars Program provides additional $2,000 scholarships.

NACME Scholars Program
NACME provides more than $4 million in scholarships awarded each year for minority students, including Hispanics.
This program is geared toward minority student interested in engineering programs.
Students must enroll in a NACME partner school to become eligible for the scholarship. The program takes into account the student’s financial need and academic performance. Students are required to maintain GPA of 2.8 or above to maintain eligibility.

The Advancing Hispanic Excellence in Technology, Engineering, Math, and Science (AHETEMS)
AHETMES are scholarships provided for Latino students obtaining degrees in engineering, math and science.
Students’ grades and financial need are both taken into consideration, and the scholarships range from $1,000 – $5,000, for Latino high school seniors, undergraduate students and graduate students.

Aetna Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship provides $2,500 for full-time or part-time undergraduate students attending 2- or 4-year HACU-member institutions, pursuing a degree in nursing and holding at least accumulative GPA of 3.0.
