Coroner Cristian D’Ovidio, who carried out the autopsy, says “now more in-depth examinations are needed, even of a toxicological nature,” of samples taken from the body.
Morosini collapsed and died after suffering a cardiac arrest during a Serie B match at Pescara on Saturday. He was 25.
When Morosini’s body is released it will be taken to the port city of Livorno on Tuesday for a public viewing so fans can pay their final respects. There are also plans to carry the coffin around Livorno’s Armando Picchi stadium.
